Pets & dogs
Can I bring my dog with me?
Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs/pets to stay with us at Tepee Valley. While we love all animals and do not assume your pet would be badly behaved, our campsite is situated in the middle of farming countryside and as a small working farm ourselves, we cannot risk any disruption to livestock in the area.
We are more than happy to put you in touch with local kennels if required, as well as suggest ample dog walking trails in the area.

Power
Are there electrical points in the accommodation?
At Tepee Valley, we would encourage our guests to switch off from daily life, get back to nature and simply enjoy spending time in one another's company, which is why there is a limited number of power points at our campsite. Of course, there are enough to charge a phone, run the lamps and plug in some small electrical appliances such as a small hairdryer.

There is no Wifi at Tepee Valley, but most mobile networks cover the area, so you will never be completely off grid, if you don't want to be.

Cooking/Fuel and Eating
How do I cook while staying at Tepee Valley?
One option is to cook over the fire pit. This is great fun and we heartily recommend it. We can even provide some cast iron cookware, but this can take some practice and we can advise you during your stay. Cast ironware needs to be oiled, seasoned, and handled with care as it can become very hot, so it may not be the best option for beginner campers.
There are also some communal barbecues which you can use. Please note that we do not provide charcoal so you should remember to pack your own, and that to ensure that you will have barbecue facilities during your stay, you should bring your own disposable trays.
Of course, there is always the communal kitchen, where you will find a full gas cooker and oven, so that you can boil a kettle, make toast or cook up a few simple meals. Here, you will also find a small communal fridge and sink/washing up area. All the cutlery and crockery and saucepans are stored in the kitchen area.
Please note: cooking is not allowed inside any of the canvas structures and we encourage meals to be eaten outside at the picnic area unless the weather is excessively cold/wet. This is a simple safety precaution.
If you are staying in the Log Cabin, Abram's House or Rosie Lee Gypsy Caravan, you will have access to your own gas cooker (oven/grill/4 ring burner) in a private kitchen area. Additionally, the large yurt has its own 2 ring gas-burner and outdoor kitchen area, and the Shepherd's Hut has a small, low power stove with oven that can be used for boiling water on and heating meals.
How do we keep food fresh during our stay?
The Rosie Lee, the Log Cabin, Abram's House and Large Yurt all have their own fridges/ice boxes in the accommodation and the other self catering units share the fridge in the communal kitchen area.
Do we need to bring fuel for the fire pits and stoves?
A large bag of logs and some sticks/lighters will be provided for you at the start of your stay. If you require more then please bring them with you, buy them locally or buy them from us early in the day (£4 per bag).
Do you provide pots, pans and cutlery?
Yes. The communal kitchen/accommodation units is stocked with pots, pans, utensils mugs, plates, cutlery and crockery.
